It is my pleasure to introduce myself as Belinda Ford, Executive Director at Countryside Senior Living in Jacksonville, Texas.
As an East Texas native, I am grateful to have grown up in a small town with small-town values, which have shaped me throughout my life. In my professional career, I have spent 27 years in healthcare, 26 of which I have worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Most of those years were spent working in long-term care, but I have had experience in home health, pediatrics, med-surg, and occupational health. Despite where my career has taken me, I have always found my way back to senior care. I feel as though it is my calling and passion to work with our seniors, and it is where I feel most at home. My goal every day is to ensure that our seniors receive all the love, respect, and dignity we can give them.
My career here began as Director of Resident Care, where I enjoyed daily interaction with residents and overseeing their healthcare needs. In January 2023 I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration, which had been a long-time dream. Following that, I was given the opportunity to transition into the Executive Director role, which has truly been the best and most rewarding job of my career. Having a vast variety of experience in the healthcare field allows me to provide our residents with the safest and most caring environment while fully promoting their independence possible. Here at Countryside, we want our residents to feel like they are truly at home and part of the family, and we do our best daily to achieve this by creating a homelike environment.
We at Countryside strive to be an extension of your family by providing a safe, loving, and caring environment for your loved one in the same way that we would care for our own. Our activities area is a favorite place to watch residents begin to reengage with life again, through socialization with peers, activities, and enjoying the dining services we provide. Many residents come into our community unsure of what to expect, but within a short time begin to welcome life again. When residents thrive and find new chapters in their lives, it makes all of the tough days’ worth it. Being able to spend each day with our residents is more like spending time with your family than it is like working, which makes my job the best in the world.
